What documents do I need to get a New Mexico driver’s license?
Once the New Mexico MVD reopens, you will need a few documents when you go to get a driver’s license. For a first-time driver’s license, you will need to show proof of identity and two documents proving New Mexico residency. License permits and provisional licenses are not renewable online. There is a small fee to renew your New Mexico drivers’ license online.
Is NM MVD open?
With COVID-19 shutdowns, your local MVD office may or may not be open yet. Some NM MVD offices may be open by appointment only after June 1.
